Take time out to learn how to make your own original yarns.
Join us and discover the satisfaction of producing your own yarn which is unique and beautiful. We will combine coloured fleece and other materials to create wonderful, colourful and textured yarns in traditional and non-traditional ways.
Spinning is very soothing for the soul and if you are feeling harassed then you will be calmed by the rhythmic process.
You will have the opportunity to learn how to use a drop spindle and spinning wheel and make your own drop spindle. You will have a go at carding sheep’s fleece into rolags ready for spinning. A spinning wheel will be available for you to ply together woollen yarn and another for you to spin together your own distinctive yarn.
We will look at different sheep’s fleeces that are available and also other spinning equipment.
This course is suitable for beginners and those looking for inspiration.
