Take time out to learn the ancient craft of spinning and make your own original yarns.
Discover the satisfaction of producing your own yarn which is unique and beautiful. We will combine fleece and other fibres and materials to create wonderful, colourful and textured yarns in traditional and non-traditional ways.
You will have the opportunity to learn the basics of spinning, how to use a drop spindle and spinning wheel. You will be shown how to sort a fleece and card it into rolags ready for spinning. We will also look at and compare different fibres and fleeces that are available and other spinning equipment.
Spinning is a rhythmic and meditative process which can be a calming experience that is soothing for the soul.
This course is suitable for beginners.
