Joan Mowl
Joan Mowl had a studio at the Manchester Craft Centre and sold a variety of glass items such as light catchers and doll's house windows to lampshades and full sized lead lights. She has enjoyed moving forwards and experimenting with the art of stained glass, whilst teaching students at Start Studios in Rusholme.
Joan studied Architectural Stained Glass at NEWI (now known as Glyndwr University) and took the practical modules which included painting on glass, slumping, fusing and casting. Joan is an experienced and qualified tutor who has taught adult education classes in Stained Glass from 1987.
Joan now lives in Shropshire and is happy to pop back to Manchester occasionally as she enjoys introducing the art of stained glass to those eager to learn. She is keen to encourage others to learn the skills involved in working with glass and to appreciate its beauty.
